In Luke’s fourth “Nativity Hymn,” Simeon blesses the Lord for fulfilling His promises of sending salvation to Israel. This old man can now depart in peace, because he has held the Savior in his arms.
In Luke’s third “Nativity Hymn,” angels give good news about Jesus’ birth to a group of shepherds. After visiting the baby in a manger, they go forth to share with others their newfound joy in Jesus.
In the second of Luke’s “Nativity Hymns,” Zacharias praises God for His provision of redemption and prophesies about his son’s relationship to the Redeemer.
